Diyala: Diyala Police, in cooperation with Kirkuk Police, have successfully apprehended two suspects involved in the murder of a car showroom guard in the Khalis district, Diyala Governorate. The suspects allegedly killed the guard, burned his body, and hid it to facilitate theft.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior announced that information exchange between the police commands in Diyala and Kirkuk Governorates revealed that the suspects fled to Kirkuk Governorate after committing the crime. A joint task force was established to investigate the matter. One suspect was traced to Nineveh Governorate, where he was arrested, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.
Further investigation indicated that the second suspect had fled to the Kurdistan Region. In collaboration with local security services, a team from the Azadi Crime Combat Office was dispatched, leading to the suspect’s arrest. The suspects have been detained under Article 406 of the Penal Code and are being prepared for r
eferral to the competent courts.
