Basra: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani conducted a sea tour today to review the progress and completion rates of key projects at the Al-Faw Grand Port in Basra Governorate. During the tour, Al-Sudani assessed various aspects of the port’s development, beginning with the five newly completed docks, which were handed over in a ceremony he sponsored.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office reported that Al-Sudani also inspected the container yard and dock wall, both of which have reached a completion rate of 100%. He then reviewed the submerged tunnel project, which has achieved a completion rate of 58.47% and is considered one of the critical projects for developmental roads. Furthermore, Al-Sudani evaluated the navigation channel, which is 77.41% complete, and concluded his tour by examining the road linking Faw Port to the expressway, which has a progress rate of 92.42%.
Throughout his visit, Al-Sudani interacted with engineers, technicians, and workers involved in
the Faw Port projects, commending their efforts over the past two years. These efforts have significantly increased the rate of completion since the government began its executive duties. Accompanying the Prime Minister on his tour were the Minister of Transport, the Governor of Basra, several Members of Parliament and advisors, and the Director General of Iraqi Ports.
