Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing that took place in Al-Sadr City, following the detonation of an explosive device that targeted a market in Al-Sadr City area, killing many innocent people, and wounding dozens.
In a statement, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif affirmed its full solidarity with the brotherly Iraq, the leadership, the government and the people, in the face of this brutal terrorism, which has stripped all meanings of humanity, and shed innocent blood in blessed days, praying to God to preserve Iraq, and to spare its people all harm and evil.
The statement added: “The Eminence of the Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, extends his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, praying to the Almighty God to bless the victims with His mercy and forgiveness, to grant their families patience and solace, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.” And to Him we shall return.
