Baquba The veterinary teams in Diyala contained a bird flu outbreak that appeared in a poultry project in the governorate.

Riyad Al-Tai, director of the veterinary hospital, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The veterinary teams in the hospital managed to contain a hotbed of bird flu after detecting more than 5,000 chickens infected with the disease in a poultry field in Al-Hawish area northwest of Baquba.”

He added, “The veterinary teams exterminated the infected chickens as part of the strict preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of the disease, in addition to preventing poultry farming for a period of (90) days.”
