Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior has officially announced the closure of the kidnapping file in Iraq. This significant development was revealed during a press conference held by Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, the spokesperson for the ministry.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Miri detailed the recent activities and accomplishments of the Ministry of Interior. He reported that over 36,000 Lebanese citizens had visited Iraq, with 11,000 of them having subsequently departed the country.
In addition to addressing the kidnapping issue, Miri highlighted the ministry’s success in combating drug-related crimes. A total of 600 drug networks have been dismantled, leading to the arrest of numerous drug dealers across Iraq.
Moreover, Miri confirmed that the ministry has taken strict measures against corruption within its ranks. A total of 2,497 officers and members were dismissed due to corruption charges, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency.
