Baghdad: The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security detachments have successfully apprehended eight individuals wanted on charges related to drug, weapons, and human trafficking across several governorates.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made possible through precise intelligence work carried out by field detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security. The individuals were sought by the judiciary and were apprehended in the governorates of Muthanna, Maysan, Najaf, Basra, and Diwaniyah. These arrests were conducted under warrants issued pursuant to Articles 28 (Drugs), 6 (Human Trafficking), and 24 (Weapons) of the relevant legal provisions.
The Directorate reported that legal procedures have been initiated, and the individuals have been handed over to the competent authorities for further processing.
