Baghdad: Iraqi oil exports to the United States exceeded 6 million barrels in October, as reported by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). This marks an increase from September’s figures, when Iraq exported 5 million and 970 thousand barrels to the US.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA released data showing that Iraq exported a total of 6 million and 161 thousand barrels of crude oil to America in October. The daily average of exports varied significantly throughout the month. In the first week of October, Iraq exported an average of 241 thousand barrels per day. This figure dropped to 70 thousand barrels per day in the second week but rose again to an average of 237 thousand barrels per day in the third week. By the fourth week, exports averaged 216 thousand barrels per day.
The EIA also noted Iraq’s position among oil exporters to the United States, ranking fifth behind Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela for the month of October.
