Al-Sudani Unveils Initiative to Attract Talent in AI for Public and Private Sectors.


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has agreed to launch an initiative aimed at attracting talent in the public and private sectors, focusing on developing skills in artificial intelligence with guidance from international experts. This initiative was discussed during the second meeting of the Supreme Committee for Artificial Intelligence chaired by Al-Sudani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister listened to government plans concerning the development of artificial intelligence in various sectors, including employees, educational institutions, and agriculture and water resources. The meeting also covered the legislative policy needed to draft a law regulating artificial intelligence applications.

In the session, Al-Sudani reviewed proposals for integrating computers and artificial intelligence into the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for the next academic year. He emphasized the importance of each school having a smart screen and internet connection to establish dedicat
ed AI laboratories. The Prime Minister underscored Iraq’s potential to lead the region in technology, leveraging its capabilities in AI.

The initiative also includes attracting skilled individuals from abroad to strengthen both public and private sectors. The first phase involves training 100 digital leaders and exposing them to the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. This effort, under international expert supervision, aims to enhance policy-making and improve the quality of services offered to Iraqi citizens.
