Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has approved the urgent measure to allow Jordanian fans to enter Iraqi territory without a visa. This decision was announced by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Youth and Sports Affairs, Khaled Kabyan, in a statement on Sunday evening. He emphasized the Prime Minister’s active involvement in all matters concerning the nation’s sports sector.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, this approval facilitates the attendance of Jordanian fans at the upcoming match between the Iraqi national team and the Jordanian team in Basra. The match is part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
